In November 2012, 4minute’s HyunA shot an American TV commercial for Toyota which has recently been released and is getting a lot of attention. In the video, she performs a fascinating, sexy dance under brilliant back-lighting. As the commercial airs throughout the US, HyunA is expected to receive a lot of attention, raising her status as a global star.

HyunA is already widely known as a YouTube star. Once she has released a new song, the music video makes headlines right away. She has previously been highlighted for her singles, but her new song “Ice cream” has gotten the most hits during the shortest period of time in YouTube.

She was chosen as one of the “21 Under 21,” the most popular idol stars under the age of 21 selected by Billboard.com, along with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

HyunA and the girls of D-Unit recently showcased their budding friendship in a photo.

On March 7, a candid photo of D-Unit members and HyunA posing together was posted online. D-Unit’s agency stated, “This isn’t just your typical junior and senior artist photo, where they just happened to meet up and take a photo – rather, HyunA makes time to meet D-Unit despite her busy schedule, confessing that she is a fan of theirs.”

HyunA was full of praise for the girl group and said, “I liked D-Unit so much since their debut that I made sure that I caught every one of their performances. If the opportunity ever does come up, I would love to become a part of D-Unit.”

D-Unit replied, “We would love to be in a group with a senior artist like HyunA, who is a world star.”

In related news, D-Unit released their second album “Affirmative Chapter 1” on March 4 and met up with their fans. Their album has especially gained attention for featuring Block B‘s Zico as the producer.

Recently, girl group 4minute’s HyunA who filmed for Toyota’s car ‘Corolla’ commercial was revealed through YouTube.

The video was filmed in November of last year, when HyunA went to America to film it. She wore either a short skirt or shorts, revealing both cute and sexy dances. She also caught the attention of many male fans through her seductive glare under colorful lighting.

Internet users who saw this commented, “HyunA is the best,” “This clip looks like a music video,” “HyunA seems to have gotten more popular after coming out in Psy’s music video,” and “I hope her work in America goes well.”

HyunA made her face known to the world by coming out in Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ music video.

Toyota is serious about reaching out to Hallyu-lovers around the world – first with their extensive web series with Lee Min Ho last year, and now with an interactive video experience with none other than 4minutes‘s HyunA, as seen all over Soompi*. Now before you get all high and mighty about celebrities endorsing products with music videos, let’s not forget one of the greatest CF collaborations ever, Big Bangand 2NE1‘s “Lollipop,” which was a commercial for LG’s new smartphone called… Lollipop.

While this is no “Lollipop,” it’s still a fun, personalized experience where once you connect with your Facebook account, you get inserted into the video’s storyline.

You see HyunA hanging out with her dancers, when she suddenly gets a reminder on her phone:

She drives off in her shiny new car, and arrives to pick you up!

She starts telling you about the plan for the day, and takes you on errands with her…

At the end, you get to view and choose your three favorite dance moves, which are then (briefly) featured in her music video for “My Color,” featuring the new Toyota C-O-R-O-L-L-A.

So, what do you think about these interactive ads featuring Hallyu stars? Sure, at the end of the day, they are still trying to sell you a product, but at least they are acknowledging K-Pop fans as an important demographic, and making an effort to reach them abroad like they already do in Korea.

130307 HyunA reveals she’s a big fan of D-Unit

HyunA revealed that she’s been a fan of D-Unit ever since they debuted!

A photo of HyunA with the rookie girl group was posted onto D-Unit’s Facebook with the simple caption “D-UNIT & HyunA“. Reportedly, even though HyunA was busy, she made time to see D-Unit just to be able to meet them.

She confessed, “I’ve liked them ever since they debuted. I always made sure to watch every show D-Unit came out on. If I get the chance, I’d like to work with them in D-Unit.”

Of course, D-Unit couldn’t hide their excitement at HyunA’s attention, and they replied, “If we work together with the world-famous star HyunA sunbae, we’d be so happy“.

Representatives from D-Unit and 4minute agreed on the possibility of working together stating, “If the date and concepts match up, then it’s not impossible“.

In the pictures is 4minute‘s HyunA in a casual outfit. She is wearing a white hoodie, denim jacket, and a bright orange hat. In the photos, HyunA looks happy and excited as she looks at the food on the table. Unlike her usual sexy look on stage, HyunA looks adorable in these pictures.

Netizens that saw these photos commented, “Lovely,” “She is so cute,” “Is she being shy here?” “She looks playful,” “She looks cute even in her everyday life,” “These photos make me smile.”

Meanwhile, HyunA recently became the first Korean singer to decorate the cover of British magazine “Pop.”

130306 4minute and B2ST Praise Each Other Before the “Cube Concert”

4minute and B2ST teamed up for the first time in a while, saying good things about each other and gearing up for their performances at the Cube Concert.

Cube Entertainment artists 4minute, B2ST, G.Na, BTOB and Roh Ji Hoon attended the press roundtable held before the 2013 United Cube Concert Cube Party held on February 2.

B2ST and 4minute especially warmed the air by exchanging compliments.

Yang Yo Seop of B2ST said about 4minute, “4minute is a team that′s always beautiful and lovely,” and added to laughs from his audience, “I wish we could become better friends.”

Fellow member Lee Gi Kwang added, “4minute becomes more attractive the more you look.”

4minute′s Hyuna answered, “We feel reassured thanks to the B2ST oppas (big brothers), because they′re loved wherever we go.”

4minute and B2ST performed in special performances that rearranged their hits in an entirely new style, even swapping some for the other group to sing.

The Cube Concert has toured the world, even landing in Japan, London and São Paulo in 2012. The concert will take place again in Japan on February 21.

Last month casual brand “G by Guess” chose 4Minute’s HyunA as its fashion muse and revealed photos of HyunA looking cute and sexy in form fitting jeans. On March 4 “G by Guess” released more pictures of the K-pop princess modelling the spunky looking clothing brand.

The pictures are from the 2013 Spring/Summer collection for “G by Guess.” HyunA is their “Pin-Up Girl” as she poses in bright and colorful t-shirt and shorts. HyunA also shows off her enviable body in a loose t-shirt and tight jeans. Continuing the concept of “Fun Design, Sexy Style”, the singer once again perfectly combines cute and sexy in this eye catching pictorial.

Recently, HyunA became the first K-Pop singer to be featured on the cover of a British magazine.

4minute‘s HyunA became the first Korean artist to grace the cover of ‘POP‘!

‘POP’ is a famous fashion magazine in England that the whole world watches for its trendy fashion and art. HyunA became its cover girl for the 28th issue, putting her right up there with other icons like Madonna, Britney Spears, Victoria Beckham, and Jennifer Lopez.

Editor Ashley Heath said, “HyunA became an icon of K-pop for Westerners through “Gangnam Style“. On YouTube, a few clicks turned into millions and tens of millions because of HyunA’s unique charm. HyunA is stylish, and can be called the prime example of our generation’s liveliness.”

It’s a little disappointing that HyunA isn’t getting known for her own songs, but rather for her rendition of Psy’s song (as you can see by the #OPPAJUSTMYSTYLE on the cover). Nonetheless it’s nice to see her getting recognized for her own style as well.

On February 21, 4minute’s agency, Cube Entertainment, tweeted a picture with the comment, “I feel good today. Lalalalalala. Hyun Ah is so excited and a music note is floating.”

In the picture, Hyun Ah is posing for the camera in a printed training suit. She looks cute rather than sexy that she used to look on stage.

People who saw the picture responded: “The training suit looks good because of Hyun Ah.” “She’s so cute out of the stage.” “She has a different look in her daily life.”

4minute attended the ’2013 United Cube Concert,’ which was held on February 21 in Yokohama, Japan and gave wonderful performances.
