130321 Idols Pick HyunA as #1 “World-Idol”

4minute’s HyunA has been crowned with the title “World Idol” by fellow idols.

On March 20, MBC Every1’s “Weekly Idol Ranking” aired a segment of the ranking “Best 7 World-Dols Who Would Become the 2nd PSY.” Like every week prior, the production staff handed out ballots to current generation idols where they had to cast their votes.

Some of the other candidates who entered the top seven were Super Junior’sEunhyuk (loved by many as Anchovy), SHINee’s Key (known for his outstanding language skills) and Big Bang’s G-Dragon (acknowledged by famous foreign celebrities).

However, the results show that HyunA came out on top. Many idols reason that since she appeared in PSY’s mega-hit music video “Gangnam Style,” a lot of people have seen her face and she’ll have the best opportunity to make it on the grand scale.

After HyunA heard the results, she said, “I think it’s more important that foreign fans love Korean music than what my ranking is. I’m thankful, but am embarrassed.”

130320 HyunA ranks 4minute according to their looks on ‘Weekly Idol’

‘Weekly Idol‘ wouldn’t be what it is without its rankings that fans look forward to each week. On the show, HyunA honestly ranked her 4minute members according to their looks.

HyunA shared, “The visual ranking among 4minute changed a lot these days. My visuals belong in the middle of the ranking. When I’m having a good makeup day, I’m #2. But when I’m not, I’m #3.” She also chose Jihyun as the prettiest member, stating, “You don’t need any other words to explain. She’s just pretty.”

Although she wasn’t 1st in that ranking, HyunA was able to grab #1 as one of the best 7 ‘World Idols to Become the Next Psy’.

130319 Two Yoons get highly praised by the American magazine Spin

According to an announcement by their agency, Cube Entertainment, on March 18, Two Yoons (Heo Ga Yoon and Jeon Ji Yoon), a subgroup of the Korean girl group 4 Minute, who have been praised in the foreign press for their experimental musical approach, will go to Thailand to promote their Asian activities from the 21th to the 23th of March. This is the second case of a subgroup gaining international attention after Orange Caramel, a subgroup of the girl group After School.

Since their debut with the single “Harvest Moon” last January, Two Yoons have received favorable comments on their musical experiment with their song “24/7” from domestic and foreign fans. This song is a dance number based on country music and is the first experiment of its kind in K-pop history. The well-known American magazine Spin complimented the song for reinterpreting country music in terms of K-pop and dubbed it “Kountry” (meaning the country genre of K-pop).

The group will meet foreign fans through such activities as appearing on broadcasts, at press conferences, and in interviews starting in Thailand and moving on through three more countries in Asia.

An official of the group’s agency says, “Two Yoons are receiving explosive response both domesticly and abroad and will continue as members of 4 Minute while they carry out overseas promotions as the subgroup Two Yoons.”

130319 4minute Dons Veils of Mystery for “Dazed & Confused”

The members of 4minute became mysterious girls for a new photo spread.

The group appeared in the fashion and culture magazine Dazed & Confused as mysterious, calm girls, shedding their sexy and charismatic image.

The girls managed to put on a cold, pure look in closeups of their faces, while in others they donned blouses buttoned up to the top with long skirts and veils.

4minute′s new look can be found in the April issue of Dazed & Confused.

130319 4minute Reveals Cute Cotton Candy Photoshoot for Nylon

Aren’t they just adorable? 4minute transformed into lovely girls for an April edition photoshoot of Nylon magazine (NY + London Fashion Magazine). In the revealed photoshoot pictures, 4minute can be seen looking sweeter than ever. It looks as though they are ready for springtime and they look so cute!

4minute is currently preparing for their big comeback and they stated, “Regardless of the direction that K-Pop is heading, we are very happy with the way things are going. Every year we get to release an album and we get to perform. The moment we perform is probably when we look our prettiest. You should anticipate this upcoming album as well. Since we have all become adults, we are prettier and will change.”
